Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's departure on Monday.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in recent years and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they won just four games last season as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in the Championship.

"I have not had any of those conversations," the London-born ex- Irish youth international said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any part of my concentration is currently.

"I possess a special position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a crucial phase of the season. Anything external hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Contractual Details

It has been suggested that McKenna would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about these. "I don't think everyone has to publicly and declare what they used to be, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a new four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his alleged buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I don't know what mine are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless!

"I approach this role like I will remain Ipswich manager forever. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

The former striker represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh forward is inclined to complete the current global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Glasgow position.

Wales are presently in third place in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would book their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but assured of making those, due to a productive Nations League campaign, should they not end up their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, Bellamy, whose contract concludes after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until following the play-offs at the minimum.
